Two Christmas Fairs

Dear Members/Friends,

First of all I want to thank all those who attended the Malta Day-UK celebrations in September last in Waterlooville. - A great day and it really made you proud to be Maltese!  Our first acknowledgment and thanks goes to Her Worship the Mayor of Havant Cllr Diana Patrick.  Heartfelt thanks to our committee and the many helpers who volunteered and dedicated their free time to make this day a success.  Sincere thanks to all those who dressed up in Maltese Costumes and flag bearers who added the colours and Maltese authenticity to this event.  Our compliments to the Joint Choirs of Sacred Heart, the organist Vicky McGuigan and Soprano Tamsin Stevens and to the St Sebastian Wokingham Brass Band whose excellent performance lifted the profile of the Day. Thanks also goes to the statue bearers for the safe handling of our much-loved statue of Our Lady of Victories.  Thanks also to Fr Jesmond Pawley OFM Conv. for concelebrating Mass with the Parish Priest.  Above all we are thankful and very grateful to Reverend Monsignor Canon Jeremy Garratt, the Parish Priest, and Mrs Nina McCormack the Centre’s manageress, and parish administrators for accommodating us to hold these festivities in this wonderful Centre in Waterlooville Hampshire!

Christmas Fairs: This year we are once again holding two Christmas Fairs one in Waterlooville and another one in our usual place at the Scouts Centre in Stepney Way East London.  This should give you the opportunity to stock up with some of your favourite traditional Maltese products for the festive season.  The Fair in Waterlooville will be held on Saturday 23rd November starting 12.00pm and the Fair at the Scouts Centre will be held a week later on Saturday 30th November also starting 12.00pm.  Both fairs are run as an open day affair and you don’t need tickets to enter.  Besides stocking up with Maltese products one can also enjoy some Maltese food and a festive drink while socialising with other Maltese people.  In both cases Father Christmas will be visiting and should be fun for all the children and adults alike. For exact location on both fairs please see the map>>>

Volunteers: We are constantly looking for volunteers and helpers who may wish to join the MCM Committee.  We cannot do all this work by ourselves and we are always very appreciative and grateful for assistance to all those who wish to lend a hand and get involved if we are to continue sustaining and celebrating our culture.

We now urge you to come and celebrate with us these festivities together with your family and friends and join in the community spirit in a truly Maltese way!

I shall take this opportunity to wish you all a:
